My dear Cyrus,
I must implore you to visit. I promise this is not out of a desperate loneliness or terrifying myself with bumps in the night, it is with joy and excitement I extend this invitation. I find it troublesome you thought I had rushed away in fright or offense from you and must insist I make it up to you at once. There is a lovely cafe over the river that makes the most delicious pastries I have no doubt you will find well worth the travel. Perhaps you can find a reason for your company to pay for the train ticket? I have always admired your ability to make the most out of unfortunate circumstances.
While your previous letter was met with my furious nodding and agreeing with your general sentiments, I could not help myself. There is a young woman in town who reportedly has incredible abilities to speak with the dead. I have no reason to believe this is anything like the chicanery of Koons and his ilk. His flamboyant need to make the afterlife feel like a rowdy soiree with desks and chairs thrown about the room – rubbish! This lady despite her youth is much more stoic and genteel. I must admit to seeking an audience with her and I must share this with you!
My confidence in her abilities come from a tremendous experience that I must relay to you post haste. Please, come visit me, so I may regale you with this tale in person. It truly is a marvel that I still cannot believe myself.
I embrace you,
Niklaus
